The A-profile (normal anterior lung surface)

  Image obtained at the normal lung surface when the probe is applied longitudinally on the lower BLUE-point. The pleural line is identified, slightly below the rib line (making alltogether the bat sign). The lung sliding is clearly identified at the pleural line and below. In the Merlin’s space (below the pleural line), the artifacts analysis show a discrete A-line, but no B-line. Normal pattern, usually present in the case of massive pulmonary embolism.
